About

Alec Rego

Chicago · Boston · New York City

Alec Rego is an actor, singer, dancer, and trumpet player from Massachusetts. He graduated from Taunton High School in Taunton, MA in 2022, and will graduate from Northwestern University in 2026 with a Communications degree in Theatre and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.

In his time at Northwestern, Alec participated in the creation of several original plays and musicals, but one of his favorite experiences was working with the student theater group SeeSaw. This group is dedicated to the creation of Theater for Young Audiences, and by working with them, Alec helped them create a show designed specifically for young children on the Autism spectrum. Additionally, Alec also performs with the Northwestern University Marching Band as well as serving as their Uniform Manager, where he was in charge of assigning and maintaining over one hundred uniforms throughout his senior season. While some may say that marching band and this type of job have little to do with theater, Alec would argue that this experience not only taught him how to effectively organize over one hundred people for several performances, but also instilled in him a deep respect for the unseen work that goes into each and every performance.

Alec is passionate about unity, giving voices to those without one, and healing hearts through theater. Whether it is silently connecting with nonverbal children during an interactive play or tapping his feet off in a big scale musical, theater is what brings us all together and helps us move forward as one into the future.
